The husband-and-wife team of Scott and Lynn Adams began their career as noted winegrowers more than 15 years ago, when they acquired their first estate vineyard in 1995. Four years later, they established Bella Vineyards & Wine Caves, a small family-operated winery dedicated to crafting limited-production zinfandel and Rhône-varietal wines. Since 2002, Scott and Lynn have lived with their daughters on a small 10-acre vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Located in the cool heart of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay country, just a mere two miles from the famed vineyards of Rochioli, this idyllic property has quietly become a source for exceptional Burgundian varietals. To maintain the integrity and focus of Bella, vintage after vintage, Scott and Lynn sold the grapes from their home vineyard to other wineries. Even so, the quality of the fruit, and their passion for the site, planted a seed.

Beginning with the 2008 crush, that seed became the inspiration for a small, independent winery focused on tiny lots of pinot noir and chardonnay from the fabled Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast winegrowing regions. Taking inspiration from their home property, Scott and Lynn named this new endeavor “Ten Acre.”

Through some of the wonderful people they have met over the years, Scott and Lynn have been able to establish relationships with a handful of incredible, top-quality vineyard partners. Working with grapes from these storied sites, Ten Acre makes a small portfolio of vineyard-driven wines. Though these handcrafted Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs offer appealing intensity and power, they are also wines with poise and balance—wines that offer their most complete expression when shared with family and friends over dinner.
