With Sonoma County roots going back generations, Ramona Crinella’s 20-acre vineyard just outside of Forestville showcases some of the best fruit this cool-climate region has to offer. Because Crinella’s southeast-facing slopes rise up to 300 feet, the site offers a great deal of diversity, including a number of defined microclimates within the vineyard. This natural diversity is enhanced through a varied selection of clones, most planted in 1999 in Crinella’s ideal Goldridge soils, resulting in great complexity and depth to the pinot noir produced from this acclaimed vineyard.

The Crinellas farm this property with the assistance of renowned Vineyard Manager Jim Pratt. "Our goal is to get the maximum quality from each grape through careful clone selection, vine spacing, limited fruit production per vine and the most effective vineyard design for optimizing the terroir," explains Jim.

Our debut vintage from Crinella Vineyard captures all the qualities that drew us to this wonderful site: lush dark fruit, black cherry, intense layers of cassis and plum blossom, as well as sophisticated terroir-driven notes of graphite and minerality. Hints of vanilla, clove and nutmeg from French oak aging add depth and intrigue, underscoring this wine’s appeal and complexity.
