In 1999, grower and native West Sonoma County resident Earl Stephens planted this vineyard working with our vineyard manager, Charlie Chenoweth. The property features extremely steep slopes and the well-drained Goldridge soil that this corner of the Russian River Valley is famous for. Charlie and Earl have become intimately familiar with the details (and quirks) or this vineyard and have it truly fine-tuned as a top pinot property.

The fruit is sourced from a cross section of the various clones planted on this ranch to increase overall complexity. Aging occurred for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 40% being new, the remainder being 1- to 2- year-old barrels. A 7-day cold soak allowed the fruit to develop rich textures and nuances.
