Featuring the 2015 Sangiacomo Green Acre Hills Chardonnay
"Green Acres is one of the most sought-after of our Chardonnay vineyards due to the distinctive character and intensity of the grapes." Mike Sangiacomo
It was New Year’s Eve in 1969 when Buck Sangiacomo was partying with his old buddies Jim and Rose Millerick. Around about 2 a.m. they got to talking about the future. By dawn they had hatched a plan for the Sangiacomos to plant grapes on Green Acres. It became the first vineyard the family planted and it has become legendary to those who love Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
The 2015 Sangiacomo Green Acre Hills Chardonnay was immediately complex with forward aromas of baked apple, lemon curd, orange blossom, and roasted almond. Flavors of pear pastry, white apricot, and lemongrass combine with a heady mineral expression and a creamy, well-knit, open-textured style that is seductively spiced. The rich texture is deftly balanced by mouthwatering acidity and freshness. This beautiful tension creates a wonderfully vibrant Chardonnay that lingers for minutes and draws you in.
Featuring the 2018 Stephens Vineyard Pinot Noir
We have made wine from the grapes grown by Earl Stephens since 2010, His passion and dedication to grape growing is unparalleled. Earl dropped in this week to talk about plans for the year and to discuss the farming of his delicious Pinot Noir. When he asked if there was anything we would like to see different, the answer was easy...not a thing. The devotion Earl has for growing grapes is easy to spot when walking his hillside rows.
Earl's attention to detail translates into the concentrated dark cherry and blueberry fruit flavors that mingle with complex notes of sagebrush, tobacco, and spring flower aromas found in our 2018 Earl Stephens Pinot Noir. These all flow to a straight-up gorgeous, opulent Pinot Noir with a silky mouthfeel, polished tannins, and an amazing finish. This is pure Russian River goodness...a palate that is nuanced and expressive with an appealing bright expression and divine freshness.
