2014 Green Acres Hill Block Chardonnay

Sensory Notes: This dazzling wines begins with alluring aromas of peach, lemongrass, crisp apple and honeysuckle, with just a hint of sweet toast from aging in French oak. On the palate, layers of Meyer lemon, meringue, and nectarine are supported by crisp acidity. The wine finishes bright and fresh with hints of vanilla, lemon zest, and tropical fruit. 

Vineyard Notes: The Hill Block is located in the Green Acres Vineyard which is owned and farmed by the nenowned Sangiacomo family, and lies in the Carneros AVA in the Sonoma Coast appellation. This benchland property benefits from the cool San Pablo bay winds, giving the chardonnay grapes plenty of crisp acidity and freshness. 

Winemaking Notes: Picked on October 7th, fruit for the 2014 Green Acres Hill Block Chardonnay was pressed off the skins before undergoing native yeast and full malolactic fermentation, which took place in barrel. Bâtonnage occurred each day during primary fermentation and once per week after that. The chardonnay was aged for 11 months in French oak.
