Sensory Notes: This dazzling wine begins with alluring aromas of lemongrass, crisp apple and honeysuckle, with just a hint of wet gravel. On the palate, layers of Meyer lemon, kiwi and peach are supported by crisp acidity. The wine finishes bright and fresh.

Vineyard Notes: The Hill Block is located in the Green Acres Vineyard which is owned and farmed by the renowned Sangiacomo family, and lies in the Carneros AVA in the Sonoma Coast appellation. This benchland property benefits from the cool San Pablo bay winds, giving the chardonnay grapes plenty of crisp acidity and freshness. Planted in 1969, Green Acres was the very first of the Sangiacomo family’s vineyards. Today Green Acres is one of the most sought-after of the family’s Chardonnay vineyards due to the distinctive character and intensity of the grapes. There is one organically grown Chardonnay block and five of the original acres of Chardonnay (“The Heritage Block”) planted in 1969 to the Old Wente clone on St. George rootstock still remaining. More than 20 clone and rootstock combinations are in the vineyard, including clones 4, 17, 548, 809, and Hyde and Old Wente selections. The vineyard is bordered by Sonoma Creek on the east with Fowler Creek running down the middle.
